Earlier Boston finished off The Hawks in game 7, they're going to face Cleveland in round 2. Then it was time for The Lakers to start their series against Utah, and what a start that was, Kobe scored 20 points in the first half to finish with 38. We were served with a beautiful show of passes and great defense by The Lakers, they forced 7 turnovers off Boozer and shut down Deron Williams. Sasha Vujacic and Turiaf were huge coming off the bench, they gave us valuable points and block shots respectively.
I have the series in 6 for The Lakers, don't be suprised if it takes us less than that.

Wrongful Convictions overturned by DNA
It's becoming a trend in Dallas County to free wrongfully convicted inmates after DNA testing have shown they were the wrong guy(the most in the country). Every other week a black man walks free after being the victim of an over zealous prosecutor in the 70's. The motto of that District Attorney office was to "prosecute at all costs" and they even withheld key evidence that could have exonerated the defenders. Now it takes a courageous new black D.A to challenge all those convictions by then D.A Henry Wade (notoriously known for his perfect record-never lost a case, now we know why), he's going back in times with the help of The Innocence Project of Texas (volunteers graduates and lawyers) and studying more than 250 cases. 17 people have been freed so far, some spent more than 20 years in prison and always maintained their innocence. One even refused parole because one of the condition was to admit guilt for a simple consideration by the comitee.
Kanye apologizes to Houston
The media went bizerck when a video of Kanye asking many times the engineers to turn off the screens behind him at a concert was posted online. They pictured him as a diva. People still don't understand that he's a perfectionist and he's aiming for the sky whenever his name is on some product. Entertainment Weekly also gave a B+ review to his show. I say Let the fans be the judge not some cubicle magazine writer(referring to his rant against the writer of the review, Kanye asked him to get a life or kill himself). Here's the latest quote:
Don't believe the hype! When I started the show the other night we were having a lot of technical issues due 2 the heat. The 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage were glaring bright blue like when your DVD player acts up at home. I asked for them 2 turn the screens off 3 times because it was distracting 2 the show. The fans were not getting what they paid for. I admit, in my frustration, I did use profanity on the 4th time I asked. I stopped the show 2 go over and check it out myself. After the screens were turned off I started the same song from the beginning. The screens were eventually fixed 5 songs in but it was definitely better 2 have them blacked out rather than bright blue. Unfortunately for certain media outlets, you will never be able 2 'Michael Jackson' me. That means 2 make it seem like everything I do is so weird or out of place... they always try 2 make it seem like everything is about my ego! That joke is getting old. At a certain point you have 2 respect that I'm one of the last artist that still cares about the fans having the best time of there lives! Thanks 2 Bossip and Perez for taking it easy on me on the EW spaz... I did go in a little 2 much on that one. I'm sure there are some cool people who work over there and had nothing 2 do with that review. With all that said.... "I'm still the greatest!!!" lol!! Oh and I was in the studio with T.I. last night.... so get ready!!!

If you've been to a recent Jay-z show you know he has this routine where he goes through his hits if he doesn't feel it, he asks the DJ to go to the next joint. Well in NYC at The Garden, when "Crazy in Love" was cued and Jigga was about to scratch the track, a curvy Beyonce appears and let him know the joint was the ish, she did the "uh hoh" dance and left as quick as she came in.

"Iron Man" hits Gold this weekend
The Marvel Production Movie "Iron Man" has grossed over the weekend (since Thursday) more than 100 million dollars domestically and a 100 more overseas. This is the second best weekend opening ever for a non sequel super hero movie, right behind Spider Man (1st installment). I haven't seen the movie yet, but intend to. the movie is directed by Jon Favreau, starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard.
Microsoft abandons bid for Yahoo
This is the second offer from Microsoft Yahoo turned down. The blockbuster deal would have helped both companies become a serious competitor of Google. Yahoo was hoping to get $37 a share from the deal, Microsoft only offered 33. What seems like a difference of 4 dollars is bigger than that, about 5 billion dollars bigger.
Yahoo shareholders are really mad at their board for not going forward with the deal, they think an offer like this is really rare, and of course they want to make a profit out of their investments.
I don't see Microsoft make another offer any time soon, both companies would just have to keep taking that second and third place behind Google. Now Microsoft is hoping to see Yahoo's stocks to fall (this Monday more than likely), executives will be under pressure to act upon it and reconsider the bid.

Hornets and Pistons lead their series 1-0
The fire stunt that occurred between the first and second quarter delayed the game but didn't stop Chris Paul and his supporting cast to pound San Antonio. Duncan was shut down by Chandler and double-teams which forced The Spurs to shoot from outside the paint. Duncan only scored five points New Orleans is leading the series 1-0. the Pistons also hammered The Magic, they did a good job defending Dwight Howard by putting a lot of bodies on him. It was also a mind game, 4 players got technicals, The Pistons were provoking their opponent a lot, and some lost it and got t-ed up out of frustration.

Obama wins Guam by 7 votes
The small island of Guam had a say in this Democratic Primary this saturday even though they can't vote in the general election. More than 4,500 democrats showed up at the caucuses sites and performed their citizen duties. It was a close race with 4 delegates at stake, Obama won by only seven votes and the delegates will be split 50-50.
Neither candidate campaigned in the island. Tuesday is the big day though, North Carolina and Indiana are voting in the Democratic nomination election, Senators Obama and Clinton are hitting both states real hard with T.V ads and rallies.
If Clinton doesn't come out with at least a win she will be forced to drop out of the race by Party leaders. If not it's going all the way to June 3 for the last primary in Puerto Rico.

Cuban Hires Rick Carlisle as New Coach
Mark Cuban didn't waste any time in finding a replacement for Avery Johnson, he interviewed Rick Carlisle and immediately hired him. An official statement will be released in a couple days. Carlisle was the former coach of Detroit and Indiana, he was fired by both teams. He took The Pistons to The Playoffs and won Coach of The year in 2001.
Carlisle also had an interview with The Knicks but Cuban was quicker in coping a deal for him. Like I mentionned in a previous post, Avery is in serious talks with The Chicago Bulls, expect a confirmation pretty soon.
