Common & Jill Scott @ The White House Poetry Night
Common's invitation caused quite a stir over at Fox News, calling him a vile, gagngsta rapper. Pardon me but I had to laugh at that. In our circles we call him a conscious rappers. Besides like Jon Stewart so eloquently said if Johnny Cash was able to make it to the White House while singing about shooting somebody and watching him die, I don't see why Common can't make it.
Get it right next time Fok News. Jill Scott "A Woman's Manifesto" was ill.

President Obama Announces Death of Osama Bin Laden
I got to witness this great moment in history on Twitter. Around 10pm, they announced that Obama was about to make a special speech live on TV, interrupting the season finale of Donal Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" (Ha! Ha!). I automatically knew this was related to Bin Laden or Khaddafi. The speech was scheduled for 10:30, as tension and speculations built up on the web, Obama appeared on our screens an hour after the schedule time and announced that he authorized a special mission led by the CIA that will take down Osama Bin Laden. The leader of Al-Qaeda was hiding in a fortified compound in Abbottabad a few miles outside of Islamabad, Pakistan.
The death of Bin Laden is a huge victory for the U.S in their war against terrorism. It's a huge blow to the moral of his disciples or followers. There will be retaliation eventually (I'm expecting a post-mortem video of Bin Laden to surface anytime soon now, but as time goes, the stronghold of Al-qaeda around the world will dwindle since they're left without financial support and their spiritual leader.
The body of Bin Laden was buried at sea according to Islamic laws and traditions; after multiple Arab countries, including his home country Saudi Arabia, refused to take his body.
Justice has finally been done almost a decade later after the attacks of 9/11 that killed thousands of Americans.
Obama accomplished in 3 years what Bush couldn't in 8. We have to applaud him for having the guts to authorize such a ground mission. They usually send drones and bomb the whole spot but they needed his body to prove to the world that he was dead.

Obama is having the best week ever, he just won himself a second term. Take that Donald Trump.

President Obama White House Correspondent Dinner's Speech
Hilarious, The President had a couple zingers for Trump. Take that! Take that!. I never head so many Hip Hop references in a President's speech. From Old Dirty Bastard "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" instrumental playing in the background of the movie trailer, saying Trump will now turn his focus on solving the Biggie & Tupac murders and name dropping Lil Jon.
I'm posting Seth Meyers speech in a few, he was equally hilarious.

Obama's State Of The Union Speech [Full Video]
Definitely one of the best speeches he ever wrote. He made tough and complicated policies seem easy to understand.
The speech was flowing from beginning to end, very captivating. High on emotions sprinkled with a few unscripted jokes.
Obama also threw a few jabs at Democrats and Republicans for stalling his agenda, urged them to bypass partisanship and work together for the sake of America.
There was no Joe Wilson moment last night, however a few lines of his speech were met by a few laughs by the opposite side meant as sarcasm, The President stood on his own and jabbed back with a couple zingers.
Like when he promised a freeze on all unnecessary government expenses for the 2011 fiscal year, Republicans laughed and Obama responded with "That's how budgeting works" with a condescending tone.
Get it right Congress, the Man has a vision and stop trying to blind him.

Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize
For his extraordinary efforts in international diplomacy.
Before I start let me extend my congratulations to the President.
Now, like most of the people around the World nobody saw this coming. Even the White house was shocked to learn the news early this morning. Press Secretary Gibbs woke up the President to give him the news and the first word Gibbs uttered to the Press was "Wow!".
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that he's not deserving, cause I can't come up with a name that is more deserving. But the country is at war in Afghanistan and Iraq (still), Peace is the furthest thing the USA is at right now. Besides I can't think of one major conflict the President solved besides the "Beer Summit" since he's been in office.

Barack Obama: "He's [Kanye West] A Jackass" - The Visual
I hope ABC News plan on reprimanding their employees for leaking the audio then the video of what was supposed to be an off the record remark. What happened to journalistic integrity? Are they "Off That"? Oh! and that apology to the President has no value now.

Kanye West Crashes Taylor Swift Acceptance Speech
He thought stealing Taylor Swift's shine to make a case for Beyonce's video was the right thing to do alas! Selfish douche like moment. Kanye is known for these kind of moments at award shows, every time he disagree with the outcome or the winner he always let the world knows.
From now on they should check his EGO along with his belongings at the door before every show.
Kanye later apologized on his blog:

On a classier note, Beyonce allowed Taylor Swift to finish her acceptance speech when she won for Video Of The Year:
Oh! One more thing, Kanye was actually interrupting Obama's Health Care speech to Congress not Taylor's:
Get it right next time Kanye!
Props to RR. for the videos.

The Obamas Observe A Moment Of Silence For The 9/11 Victims
It's been 8 years already since the World was devastated by this senseless terrorist act. More than 2000 innocent victims died on that day. Til this day I remember exactly where I was (across the pond). These unfortunate events have affected every single one of us one way or another.
Thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.

President Obama Speech To Congress on Health Care Reform
A well delivered speech that outlined President Obama's plan and vision for Health Care reform. Even though it lacked a few details in substance I believe the message reached across the aisle especially when Barack Obama embraced one of Senator John McCain campaign point during the Presidential Elections.
The speech wasn't not only aimed at convincing Republicans to join the battle and solve the issue in a compromise, but also directed at Americans across the country. POTUS reassured the nation that he would not let this issue die in another bipartisanship battle. He vowed to be the President who will deliver on this issue.
At some point in the speech President Obama was heckled by
Shame! Shame! Shame!
Senator John McCain also called the act "Totally disrespectful, there is no place for it and he should apologize immediately"
That outburst probably prompted by a severe case of Tourette Syndrome (shout out to Karen Civil) forced the ignorant feckless Republican to face the public and release an apology:
This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”
Shout out to all the Twitters that joined the roast of this fool.
Get it right next time.

Obama's "Back To School" Speech
Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy
Republicans started criticizing the speech way before he gave it. The controversy forced the White House to release the text of the speech a couple days early to shut it down. Still some zealous people forced their kids to stay home and some schools thought it wasn't educational for their students to listen to the President of The United States address them.
The Right will do anything to just spark unnecessary debate. There was nothing political or socialist about the speech. All he did was just reiterate what our parents (some not) have always told us when taking us to school: reach for excellence, do your best, never give up...
I intend to do all that starting tomorrow for my final year in college. You should do the same.
Get it right!

President Obama Gives Ramadan Message
You just learned something new about myself.
Yes I'm a Muslim and I'll be fasting for 30 days during this Holy month of Ramadan. No food and beverages, between sun-up and sun-down. This month calls for all Muslims all around the world to challenge themselves spiritually (to reinforce their Faith) and physically (no sex for example) by pushing their limits, changing or cutting their usual habits.
You learn a lot about yourself and your abilities during this month. The first couple days are tough, but as soon as your body get accustomed to the rhythm, it's all good for the next 28.
Happy Holy month of Ramadan to you all.

President Obama Interview w/ 10 Year Old Damon Weaver
I remember when this kid tried to get an Obama interview last year during the Presidential camapaign and Primaries. He finally got his wish granted. The interview was on education, Damon was a little but nervous but still asked some good questions.
Good job kid but that "chopper" suit needs a tailor! Lol!
