Obama's Administration Forces GM CEO to Step Down
Rick Wagoner resignation (firing) is effective immediately.
On Monday, President Obama will unveil his plan for the auto industry, including a response to a request for additional funds by GM and Chrysler. The plan is based on recommendations from the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry, headed by the Treasury Department.
The plan will most likely give GM a 60-day and Chrysler a 30-day lifeline to get their restructuring plan together, since they won't be able to meet the Tuesday deadline given to them when they received their first bailout.
Chrysler is more likely to be left alone if its tentative deal with Italian automaker Fiat fails. Compared to GM, Chrysler is a much smaller company and it's not tagged as "too big to fail" like CitiGroup or AIG. The White House didn't even bother to fire Chrysler's CEO Robert Nardelli, which tells you a lot where their focus is. Besides, Chrysler is owned by a private equity firm called Cerberus Capital Management. That firm has presumably billions of dollars in cash available but refuses to provide some financing to its own company. If they don't believe in their own portfolio why should taxpayers?

The 2009 NCAA Final Four
All four teams Michigan State vs. Connecticut and North Carolina vs. Villanova will be meeting next week in Detroit, Michigan (Ford Field Stadium). I always go with the local team, so I think Michigan State is going all the way. They're going to be playing in front of their home crowd and coach Izzo is one of the best in the business (consistent).

T.I Finally Sentenced to Jail
After serving his 1000 hours community service and paid a fine T.I had his sentence handed to him today 366 days, starting May 19th. I still don't understand how he got away with just a slap on the wrist for trying to buy guns illegally as a convicted felon.

Tesla Model S
Tesla Motors unveiled its new electric model today. After the $7,500 tax break, the Model S will start at just under $50,000. Tesla claims you could squeeze 300 miles out of the batteries which can be fully recharged in 4 hours.

Iguodala Shocks The Lakers
I was watching this game last night, (Lakers fan that I am) and it killed me that we let a 14-point lead in the 4th quarter slips away like that. I thought we had the game when Kobe scored that 3 pointer to give us the lead, then Iguodala pulls out this trick on us. The whole arena went dead silent.
Anyways, we still got this. We're competing against Cleveland for the best record in the League to get that home court advantage throughout the Playoffs. As soon as Bynum (should be ready for the Playoffs) gets back we'll be unbeatable.
