2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 40

Isn't TNT slogan for the NBA playoffs 40 games in 40 nights? There were more than 40 games though.

Anyways I've already given you the low down about last night and my Lakers winning the championship so here's the visual in case you were on the moon and was the only person on Earth who hasn't seen it yet.

Btw I didn't miss a day of highlights so you're welcome, tell the NBA to cut me a check too.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 39

How did Orlando lose this game? Missed free throws down the stretch.
How did L.A win this game? Huge 3rd quarter by Ariza and two clutch three pointers to force overtime and a big one in OT.

The Lakers haven't lost two games back to back in the playoffs, I believe they are 7-0 in this situation including last night win. All odds and History are against Orlando right now. Kobe Bryant and his peers have to cease the moment.

Lakers 3 - Magic 1.

Time to close this one guys, we are a win away from the Championship.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 38

Yeah! Yeah! We lost. It was a good game though on both parts. Just Kobe having an off night during the 4th quarter. "The Closer" just couldn't find a way to make shots, a few turnovers gave the opportunity to Orlando to walk away with the win.

Look out for Kobe on Thursday.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 37

Lakers 2 - Orlando 0.

It was a thriller last night. It went to overtime. Lewis and Turkoglu were on fire, they lit up those three pointers and kept the game pretty close all the way to the end. Rookie Courtney Lee had the opportunity to steal the win at the end of regular time but he missed the alley oop with 0.6 seconds left in the clock.

The next three games will be played in Orlando, if necessary.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 36

Total domination of the Lakers at both ends of the floor. Kobe was aggressive from the get-go. He was attacking the basket when he had to, getting his teammates involved. A superb game for him.
The Lakers had a great defensive strategy against Orlando, shutting down the 3 pointers. The Magic live and die behind the 3-point line. You take that away from them and you're 3 games away from an NBA title.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 35

Orlando embarassed Cleveland last night. The Magic are heading to the NBA Finals, Lebron is not. No more Nike puppet commercials.

King James was so upset that he didn't bother to stay for the ritual Press conference at the end of the game. I don't even think he shook any hands of the Magic.

Don't be a sore loser, get it right next time!

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 34

We're going to the finals (*singing).

Oh yeah! Way to close out the series. The Lakers were almost perfect for this game. They came with a mission and stay focused all the way to the end. Everybody contributed in their way, Ariza early on scored 10 points in the first quarter then Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant took over this game with their triangle offense and their inside-outside post-up game. The Nuggets defense had no answer for them, Carmelo was once again struggling from the field. JR Smith tried to pick up the slack but it wasn't enough to counter the Lakers physical defense.

So we're heading back to the NBA Finals and this time we're ready, No Boston for our REVENGE, we'll take anybody. Which ever team, Cleveland or Orlando joins us better come ready with their game face on. The whole world wants to see a Kobe vs. Lebron Finals (even Nike and their puppet commercial) and I have to admit they'll be an easier opponent compared to Orlando. Dwight is dominant in the paint it will be a tough challenge for Andrew Bynum and they have great 3-point shooters.

Anyways, time will tell.

Cleveland staying alive. It's going to be over in Orlando though. time for my Lakers to close it tonight too.

FC Barcelona Wins UEFA Champions League Final [Soccer]

Step your soccer game up America. That was an exciting game. They won won 2-0 by beating Machester United with a goal by Samuel Eto'o native of the country Cameroon (Central Africa) and another by Messi.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 32

Orlando won this game in overtime. Lewis, Pietrus and Alston made it rain from the 3-point line. Cleveland can't come back from this 3-1 lead. Nobody has in a long time. This would be over in Game 6 at Orlando.

Lebron James is still a Beast though.

Series tied 2-2. Jr Smith killed us. Nothing else to say.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 30

Orlando leads the series 2-1. I'm starting to think that Cleveland has no answers for Orlando inside-out plays. They got so many talented 3-point shooters that it's a gamble when they decide to double-team Dwight Howard. Once he kicks the ball out it's an automatic 3 point shot.

If the Magic go back to Cleveland leading the series 3-1, it's over for the Cavs.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 29

Another close down to the wire type of game. This time Kobe took over with a 3-pointer over JR Smith to regain the lead and hit free throws that matter at the end of the game. These conference finals are the best I've seen in years, don't be surprised if you hear the NBA is having its best ratings ever.

Those games could go either way in the final minutes. It just comes to who can execute and take care of the ball the most.
Denver needs to go back to practice and handle their inbound passes, Ariza made another game changing steal at the end of the game.

Lakers - Nuggets: 2-1. (Another win in Denver will be huge)

No highlights needed...Just one AMAZING shot by King James to win the game with one second left in the clock. When I thought Orlando was heading back home with a 2-0 lead LBJ pulls out an MJ on us.

That's what separates good players from great ones.

I'm still recovering from this loss. It's going to come down to who can finish the game under pressure. It's going to be close all the way, a very long series. Every possession will count down the stretch.

We should get the next one.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 26

I like that Cleveland finally got a reality check. They were on a cake walk for the past two rounds without any team really challenging them (The East is that weak). Dwight Howard is a beast, he brought us back into memory lanes when Shaq used to bring down the house in Orlando and breaking the board. Dwight almost did that, he broke down the shot clock.

When is the last time you saw Kobe call a time out or cramp up because he was running out of gas so he can catch his breath? Never, but Lebron did and people wants to compare them. I take experience over God-given talent any time of the day. He choke at the end of the game and it cost his team a "W".

Don't get me wrong I still have Cleveland to win series. The whole world wants to see a Kobe vs. Lebron Finals, but at this rate we might not. LBJ needs more support for his team, they need to step up and make those wide open shots.

2009 Playoffs Highlights - Day 25

What a game this was. Physical, exciting and close until the end. What more can you ask for. Carmelo was on fire from the get-go and gave Denver a 13-point early lead. But then the Lakers 2nd unit came in and brought them back and outscored Denver bench 20-3 in the first half. Both teams traded tough shots after tough shots until the end. On the defensive end watching Carmelo and Kobe go at each other was exciting.

I expect the same kind of energy throughout the whole series and of course I got my Lakers in 6. Props to Ariza and that steal in the inbound pass at the end of the game, it sealed the deal for his team.

I swear my Lakers are disappointing me right now.

Phil Jackson is getting on my nerves with his zen-master philosophy when is he going to get on everybody's case and put some sense of urgency into their heads. We are facing elimination and all he has to said is "we couldn't make shots".

Get over yourself they are out-hustling us on the court, they play with more energy, like they got nothing to lose. We got to get out of this state of mind and start respecting our opponent. You can't turn it on & off whenever you feel like it. Stay consistent!

Denver & Cleveland are the only teams that have been consistent in these playoffs and truthfully they both deserve to go to the Finals. L.A needs to step their game up or it's going to be over for them on Sunday or later when facing Denver.

Orlando also forced a game 7, I see them win it at home.
