Former Milwaukee Head Coach and lately Assistant Coach for the Detroit Pistons, Terry Porter was finally hired by former teammate and current GM of the Phoenix Suns Steve Kerr. After D'Antoni took the job in New York, the spot was vacant so are many other positions around the league(Chicago, Detroit). It's a blow for Detroit for missing on the opportunity to secure the position for Porter (the search continues for them).

In other coaching news, Doug Collins declined the offer to become the Chicago Bulls new coach, he and and the President agreed that they didn't want to put their friendship in jeopardy especially if Collins had to be fire one day.
