So Boston had Powe in Game 2 and Los Angeles had Vujacic "The Machine" in Game 3. It's going to be a battle of the benches. Pierce was nonexistent during the game, I'm not sure if it was good Lakers defense or that the Celtics were a little bit jet-lagged. The bench of the home team has always played beautifully at home and I wasn't surprised by Sasha big night at Staples Center, he understood he had to keep shooting and make those shots, he finished with 20 points. Somebody had to step up with Odom and Gasol still struggling offensively. We had a 6-point lead by halftime, but Boston came back really quick on the 3rd quarter, it was a close game until the Man himself Kobe took over and closed this thing, he scored 36 points. By the way he didn't wait for the second half to take over, he was aggressive from the beginning, hitting more free throws than the Celtics in the first quarter. (Phil Jackson complaints about the free throw disparity in game 2 seemed to work). I've said this before to beat Boston you have to take out at least one of the Big Three out of the equation, in previous rounds, Boston lost some games because Ray Allen was struggling from the field (he's a machine now, he keeps lighting those 3 pointers up, 5 of them), we won this one because Pierce was.
Celtics 2 Lakers 1.
