Obama Clinches Democratic Nomination
That time has come people. Senator Barack Obama, as reported by the Associated Press, reached the magic number (2118) early today when more than 14 superdelegates announced their endorsement some in public some not for Barack Obama, more are expected later tonight. One of them is former President Jimmy Carter who is expected to make his official announcement tonight. This is Obama's night, his camp is also waiting for the final results of the primaries in South Dakota and Montana, states he's expected to win.
What a huge political turn around this country and Party has experienced for the past 15 months, campaigns full of surprises, misstatements, gaffes and controversies definitely a historical one, who would ever thought any politician white or black will pull out the biggest upset in politics? He was up against the biggest and most recognized name in Politics and had a well thought plan to beat her. The Clintons were hoping that the nomination process will be over by Super Tuesday (February 5th) but the Obama camp was in for the long run, collecting more money while she was running out of it. He took over her delegates lead when he went for a winning streak 11-0 in February and never looked back after that.
Now the big question of the night is will he give her the Vice President spot for that Dream Ticket people have been talking about? Today she answered that she will be open to the suggestion (sign of conceding the win to Obama). Obama sure needs her voters to beat McCain, however the Clintons long stance in Washington is what Obama is running against (Change in Washington). So I don't know! that's a lot of considerations to take, he won't rush his decision.
Fired Up! Ready to Go!
