Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony
The Olympic torch went off last night.
It was a total success worth 40 billion dollars. High in intensity, suspense, excitement, and disappointment at the same time. All the athletes brought their A-game, some more than others. We saw tears when Team USA track & field dropped the baton, we heard screams when Phelps was beating world records after world records and felt overwhelming emotions whenever a flag was raised (whatever the country you were reppin').
Beijing amazed us from the very beginning to the end with its colorful spectacle of lights, music, fireworks and culture. We learned a lot from China and we have even more respect today for them. You have to understand the culture to understand the People and today you won't be making anymore stereotypes towards Chinese or Asians especially after being so warmly welcomed.
Unfortunately the games were marked with a few controversies just like the previous ones. We questioned the real age of the Chinese gymnasts, we were shocked by the Cuban athlete that kicked a referee in the face. These incidents won't overshadow the memories we keep from Beijing though, we all have our favorite moments: Phelps 8 golds, Usain Bolt's individual world records, USA Men's Basketball back on top of the World and of course Women's Beach Volleyball (lol!)...
America finished with 110 total medals, China 100; however, China had more gold medals.
Thanks Beijing 2008, Good Luck London 2012.

USA Men's Basketball Wins Gold
They're bbaaaaaaaaaccccckkkkkkk!!!!
What a game we had last night or morning or whatever. If you're like me you stayed up until 2:30 am to watch Team USA get back on top of the world when they beat Spain in a very entertaining game. It was a close one, Spain fought hard to tie it up but every time the U.S punched even harder. Wade had a huge game coming off the bench and when it was needed Kobe Bryant aka "Mr. 4th quarter" took over and put the nail in the coffin.
Congrats to the "Redeem Team", Women's basketball and Lisa Leslie for their 4th gold in a row.
Cuban Athlete (Taekwondo) Kicks an Olympic Referee
The athlete was banned for life from the Olympics after kicking the ref in the face. The Cuban was mad because the ref took out some points when he took too long to come back on the mat after a time out injury.
That's how you mess your career buddy! Get it right next time! Oh wait there won't be any next time, lol!
