Qinetiq Zephyr Unmanned Solar Plane
It smashed the record for an unmanned flight by a solar airplane by flying into the air for an impressive 83 hours and 37 minutes, more than double the official record by "Global Hawk" in 2001. The plane was guided by autopilot and satellites to a height of 60,000 feet, and powers off the sun during the day, prepping its rechargeable lithium-sulphur batteries for the night. Zephyr is being built for reconnaissance and communications.

Help Us Free The Airwaves
Bring wireless Internet to everyone everywhere.
Starting from 2009, all TV broadcast in North America will switch from analog to digital. The move will free up a lot of radio airwaves or spectrum also known as "white spaces" (check video for more details). Google and many others have discovered that the unused "white space" could jump start a revolution in wireless technology. The FCC will be ruling if that spectrum should be used to serve the public. To help them make up their mind and create a faster and more accessible Internet sign the following petition addressed to the FCC.
