The Pistons gave up All-Star point guard and former NBA finals MVP Chauncey Billups, top reserve Antonio McDyess and project Cheikh Samb via The Lakers.
Joe Dumars is becoming erratic in his executive decisions, first he fires Flip Saunders and now this. I don't see how this is going to help the Pistons during the Playoffs against Boston. You give up size and a clutch player like "Mr. Big Shot" for just the speed and scoring ability of A.I? don't forget that Detroit is a defensive team how is A.I going to fit into that system?
Time will tell, it's a bold risky move though unless you have a long term plan for the organization (clearing salary cap).
