The Alaskan Governor was under investigation for firing a Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan because he refused to fire State Trooper Mike Wooten who was going through a nasty divorce with the Governor's sister.
Nothing is for sure if it was the only reason for the firing but you can say that it was part of it.
The McCain campaign could have avoided this embarassing report if they had thoroughly vetted her for weeks. Unfortunately for them, John McCain woke up one day and decided to pick a woman he met only once in his life and talked on the phone a couple times as his running mate, talk about judgement.
I'm not expecting the Obama campaign to use it politically, they're going to let the pundits, media and surrogates do the dirty work for them.
